內政部13日公布最新統計，今年全年嬰兒出生數較上年多出7千多人，突破20萬門檻，內政部預估全年可達20萬7千人。出生嬰兒中，非婚生子女有7千多人，台東縣、花蓮縣、基隆市的非婚生人口數居前3名。

內政部統計指出，2013年嬰兒出生人數為19萬9千113人，較上年減少3萬多人，2014年的嬰兒出生數，1至11月已累計18萬9千230人，不僅較去年同期增加4%，預估今年全年將可達到20萬7千多人，再度站上20萬大關。

行政院人口政策會報曾訂「每年18萬出生嬰兒數」做為「人口保衛戰」應達成目標，今年再度達標。
